Job Description – Consultant 1st Level Assurance

1                                      Job Details

·         Function: 1st Level Assurance
·         Position: Engineer – 1st Level Assurance

2                                      Role Definition

·         Engineer – 1st Level Assurance will be assigned to work with service quality surveillance / assurance Level 1 Operations activities in an operations organization. Role to perform the surveillance/L1FM/PM activities (all or some) and ensure that all the events on a network get escalated to the relevant function within the stipulated time period for restoration / resolution.

3                                      Key Responsibilities

·         Service Alarm Monitoring.
·         Alarm Management for the assigned Network Services.
·         Ticket (or Work Order) Creation, Routing to resolution party (in some case raise TT to self) and Follow-Up till closure.
·         L1 Fault Management. 1st Level resolution action on the alarms as per the defined cases.
·         Preventive Maintenance activities.
·         Regular follow up on the events with relevant departments working on it as per the MSTOP process.
·         Work towards achieving KPI targets.
·         Work towards the IPM parameters assigned by the Shift Manager
·         To ensure Security is implemented and maintained in accordance with Security and Risk Management directives of the organization
·         Adherence to the organizational guidelines & departmental processes & procedures

4                                      Authority

·         Clearing the first level Network Alarms
·         Creation of Trouble Tickets
·         Ticket updation and routing to the relevant department for further course of action
·         1st Level troubleshooting
·         Closure of ticket

5                                      Candidate Prerequisites

·         Qualifications: Degree within Telecommunication Engineering/Computer Science/Computer Engineering or equivalent
·         Industry experience: Telecom
·         Years of experience: 1-3 years
·         Certifications: Any Certification related to Telecom shall be an added advantage
·         Technical and/or functional skills: Good knowledge of service networks / GSM Network / WCDMA network /3G / Transmission / OSS / Network service applications characteristics and capabilities; Service Performance indicators and their interpretation. Basic Knowledge of services and service applications implementation / integration processes along with Access, Core, Transport & Service Networks
·         Leadership skills: Not Applicable
·         Language skills: Proficiency in written / Spoken English.
