Job Description:

Job Purpose (Job Summary):

Under general supervision, provides technical expertise in the support, and implementation of Microsoft Windows based server systems, VMware hosts and hosted virtual systems, Citrix published applications and desktops, and/or IBM/HP or similar  hardware solutions for assigned clients.

Key Responsibilities / Duties:

§  Complete the day to day operational activities of the team, respond to client queries and requests for assistance promptly and effectively in accordance with agreed service standards. Escalate any complaints accordingly.
§  Follow team procedures, including the Business/Disaster Recovery program
§  Demonstrate and deliver excellent service to all clients at all times.
§  Call management, includes logging and taking ownership, updating, closing calls correctly, using the appropriate categories and escalating when appropriate.
§  Provide on-going support for all Microsoft servers in the environment - Windows 2000/2003/2008 Server, Windows 2003/2008 Advanced Server, and all associated Server applications.
§  Assists in the coordination of assigned projects for the maintenance and development of systems in assigned areas. Uses superior customer service skills to ensure systems meet the needs of the client.
§  Provides technical support for projects and/or existing systems in cooperation with other team members.
§  Ensures that the appropriate documentation of developed and installed systems from both the client and technical perspective is prepared.
§  Keeps abreast of current developments and trends in information technology through networking, continuing education and industry/technology publications.
§  Perform other related duties as assigned by management
§  Participate in rotational on-call server support for problem ticket resolution to include weekends and evenings


Qualifications

Formal Education
§  A Bachelor’s Degree is required.  Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or other related engineering discipline is preferred

Work Experience / Knowledge: 
§  Must possess an up-to-date understanding of IT technologies and a good basic IT technical knowledge.
§  Work experience in relevant server technologies environment is preferred

§  Be able to demonstrate commitment to exceptional client service.
§  Excellent communication skills with the ability to understand and converse in English, verbally and in writing.
§  Be able to work adhere to Invesco technical and operational procedures and policies.
§  Self motivated, enthusiastic, approachable and people oriented.
§  Understanding of underlying network layer architecture and protocols.
§  Must possess a solid understanding of software and/or hardware systems used in assigned area. 
§  The ability to cooperate in a team environment is critical.

§  Degree or equivalent experience.

License/Registration/Certification: (minimum requirement to perform job duties)      
§  None

Working Conditions:
§  Normal office environment with little exposure to noise, dust and temperatures. 
§  The ability to lift, carry or otherwise move objects of up to 30 pounds is also necessary. 
§  Normally works a regular schedule of hours, however hours may vary depending upon the project or assignment. 
§  Hours may include evenings and/or weekends and may include 24 hour a day on call support by pager and/or cell phone.
·         Travel. Must be prepared and able to travel nationally and internationally sometimes within short notice.
