Description

 Overall Role purpose: Builds, administers, and monitors enterprise databases, including
 database definition, 
structure, utilization, documentation, long range requirements, operational guidelines, 
and protection. Focuses on
the technical, organizational, and infrastructure specifications. Provides technical guidance 
to power users and developers in the use of efficient database access. Ensures database
integrity, performance tuning, indexing, segmentation, and database recovery. Schedules,
 implements, and documents database changes. Ensures a current database model and data dictionary are 
documented and available to staff. Develops scripts for database.

Qualifications

 Key Accountibilities and Responsibilities: Technology:Utilizes experience with database 
theories/techniques,
 hardware and software technologies, appropriate utilities, operating systems, and system
architecture. Configures
 and tests database management software to enhance performance. People:Acts as liaison
with other 
departments, divisions, and organizations. Supports user and developer access, upgrade 
planning, implementation, and resolution of database issues. Manages and responds to 
information and technical guidance requests. Customer:Works closely with technical and client 
management to plan and implement database tools in support of complex business 
application development
 requirements and processes. Utilizes standard tools to record change and problem 
activities for tracking purposes. Business:Monitors and analyzes ongoing database status, 
utilization, and capacity. Implements and supports database security regulations, policies, 
and guidelines. Develops, tests, and implements complex physical database designs in 
support of business
 goals. Financial:Researches and evaluates alternative solutions and recommends the
 most efficient and cost 
effective database solution for the systems
 design.
