National Institute of Rock Mechanics (NIRM) is a premier research Institute dedicated to the development of rock engineering technology based on intense multi-disciplinary research. NIRM is looking for Scientists/Scientific/Supporting/Administrative Staff on regular appointment/deputation as detailed under for its R&D activities at its KGF & Bangalore Units. Candidates should possess good analytical skills and scientific temperament, and be willing to work anywhere in India or outside on short/long term project assignments.
(1) SCIENTIST-II .. 2 Posts (One post reserved for SC)
Scale of Pay : PB-3 (Rs.15,600-39,100) Grade Pay Rs.6600
Qualifications : 1st Class BE in Mining/Civil Engineering with 6 years experience (or) M.Tech./ME with 4 years experience, Ph.D (Science) with 2 years experience/Ph.D (Engg.)
Age : Up to 40 years as on 1st Sept 2012.
Scale of Pay : PB-3 (Rs.15,600-39,100) Grade Pay Rs.6600
Qualifications : 1st Class BE in Mining/Civil Engineering with 6 years experience (or) M.Tech./ME with 4 years experience, Ph.D (Science) with 2 years experience/Ph.D (Engg.)

Desirable : Doctorate degree in the subject concerned.

(2) 15 years of experience in Research/Teaching/Industry with original work in Rock Mechanics as evidenced by patents/publications..
Desirable : Ph.D in Rock Mechanics, 10 years of R&D experience in responsible positions.

(5) FINANCE & ACCOUNTS OFFICER (One post – OBC)

Qualifications : Must be a Graduate with ACA/ICWA/SAS qualification
Experience : A minimum of 10 years experience out of which at least 2 years of work experience in accounting in a responsible position in Govt. departments./ Organisations. The applicant should have experience in computerized environment, be conversant in Tally software, as well as be well versed in Govt. rules regulations.
Age : Up to 45 years as on 1st Sept 2012.

Qualifications : Must be a Graduate with ACA/ICWA/SAS qualification
Experience : A minimum of 10 years experience out of which at least 2 years of work experience in accounting in a responsible position in Govt. departments./ Organisations.
