Qualification: i) Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Engineering of any recognized University or Institute with at least one of the following subjects : Agriculture, Botany, Chemistry, Computer Science, Computer Applications, Agricultural Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Science, Forestry, Geology, Horticulture, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics.

Age Limit: 21- 32 yrs

Application Fee: Candidates must enclose with their applications a fee of Rs.210 (Rupees Two Hundred and Ten) only by Indian Postal Order, crossed and endorsed to the Secretary, Public Service Commission, West Bengal or by a receipted challan from a Govt. Treasury in West Bengal of the Reserve Bank of India, Kolkata under the head “0051-00-105-State PSC Examination fees-001-Examination fees-16 other fees”. The Postal Orders should be made payable at G.P.O., Kolkata. Money Order, Cheque, Bank Draft, Cash etc. will not be accepted. SC/ST candidates of West Bengal and Physically Handicapped (40% and above) candidates are not required to pay any fee. No fee exemption is available to BC candidates.

How to apply : Application in the given proforma may be submitted personally in open condition at the enquiry counter of the Commission’s office at 161-A, S. P. Mukherjee Road, Kolkata – 700 026 between 11-00 a.m. and 3-30 p.m. on all working days (Saturdays and Sundays are holidays) or sent by post (strictly by registered or speed post or U.C.P.) addressed to the Deputy Secretary (Examination), Public Service Commission, West Bengal, 161-A, S. P. Mukherjee Road, Kolkata – 700 026 at the above address superscribing on the envelope the advertisement no. and name of the examination. The application form shall be filled in candidate’s own handwriting in blue/black ink and signed by him/her. Closing date for receipt of application : 12th July, 2010.

Last date for Offline Application Submission is on 19th July 2010 and for Online Application is on 12th July 2010.

Qualification:
(a) Master's degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Marine Geology from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational Institutes established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as Universities under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956; or
(b) Diploma of Associateship in Applied Geology of the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad; or
(c) Master's degree in Mineral Exploration from a recognised University (for posts in the Geological Survery of India only);
(d) Master's degree in Hydrogeology from a recognised University (for posts in the Central Ground Water Board only

Age Limit: 21-32 Yrs

How to apply
(a) The prescribed application form along with an Information Brochure containing general instructions for filling up the form, an acknowledegment card and an envelope for sending the application is obtainable from the designated Head Post Offices/Post Offices throughout the country as listed in Appendix-III of Notice against cash payment of Rs. 20 (Rupees twenty only). While filling up the application form, please refer to detailed instructions given in Appendix-IIA of Notice. The candidate should also fill up in the relevant places of the Acknowledgement Card, their Application Form Number (8-digit) and the name of the examination. The applicants are required to affix the postage stamp of Rs.6 on the Acknowledgement Cards and send the same along with application form to UPSC. The duly filled in application form and the acknowledgement card should then be mailed in the special envelope supplied with the Information Brochure. You should also write the name of examination viz. "Geologists’ Examination, 2010" on the envelope before despatching it to "Secretary, Union Public Service Commission, Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi-110069".
