Eligibility: Candidates are expected to have post graduate degree in Mathematics / Applied Mathematics, with a good academic background and sound knowledge in Numerical Analysis and/or Fluid Dynamics as well as knowledge in programming languages such as FORTRAN/C++.

All other allowances are as per guidelines of DST.

The selected candidate shall be required to work in the Department of Mathematics, Visvesvaraya National Institute Technology, Nagpur as full time fellow.

SURVEY OF INDIA

Applications are invited from the Indian Nationals for the 100 posts of Topo Trainee Type 'A' in Geo-spatial Data Centres/Offices Survey of India situated at the locations mentioned below. Applications completed in all respects alongwith attested copies of certificates, mark sheets and testimonials duly signed and filled in the format should reach the Addl. Surveyor General/Director of the concerned Geo-Spatial Data Centre on or before 7th January, 2008 (Monday).

Name of the post : Topo Trainees Type 'A' (T.T.T.'A')

No. of posts : 100 (one hundred) 

Scale of pay : Rs. 3050-75-80-4590 together with DA and other allowances as admissible to Central Govt. employees during the period of training which is normally about 2 years. On completion of training they will be fixed in the scale of Rs. 5500-175-9000 plus DA and other allowances.

Educational Qualification : Candidates must have passed B.Sc. with Mathematics from a recognized University. The candidates must have good stereoscopic vision. The candidates possessing less than 45% for General Category and 40% for SC/ST/OBC in B.Sc. examination need not apply.

Age : The candidates must be between 18 to 27 years of age (18 to 32 years of age in case of SC/ST Candidates and 18 to 30 years of age in the case of OBC) as on the last date of receipt of application. The upper age limit is also relaxable for retrenched Central Govt. employees/Departmental candidates/Ex-servicemen and other eligible categories as per rules.  

Method of Application : Individuals fulfilling the above conditions may apply to the GDC's on the addresses as given under Sl. 2. Candidates already in service of Central/State Govt. & those of Public Sector undertaking and autonomous bodies financed by the Govt. of India should apply through proper channel. They are also required to furnish "No objection Certificate" from their present employer along with the application form. Incomplete applications and those forwarded in violation of these instructions shall be rejected without any further notice/correspondence.

Methods of Selection : Selection will be based on written tests in Mathematics, English, General Knowledge with Science to be held on 2nd March, 2008 (Sunday) at the above Centers under supervision of Appointing authority. Stereoscopic Fusion Test and interview will be conducted only in respect of those candidates who qualify in the written test. The concerned Appointing Authority reserves the right to limit the number of candidates to be called for the interview by finding an appropriate cut off percentage of marks obtained by them in written test.
