01. Junior Management in Officer Scale-1 cadre.
02. Office Assistant in Multipurpose cadre.

Age Limit(s):
01. Officer Scale-1: Above 18 years and Below 28 years.
02. Office Assistant: Above 18 years and Below 28 years.
(Note: The relaxation in upper age limit is cumulative as per Govt. of India guidelines.)

Educational Qualification:
01. Officer JM Scale-1:
      (a) Bachelor degree of a recognized University in any discipline OR its equivalent. Preference will be given to the candidates having Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Co-operation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy.
      (b) Essential : Proficiency in Local Language i.e. Punjabi and must have passed “Punjabi” as one of the subjects at Matriculation/ 10th/ SSC Standard.
      (c) Computer knowledge or awareness will be an added qualification.
02. Office Assistant:
      (a) Bachelor Degree or its equivalent of a recognized University in any discipline;
      (b) (i) Essential: Proficiency in Local Language i.e. Punjabi and must have passed “Punjabi” as one of the subjects at Matriculation/10th Standard.
           (ii) Desirable : Knowledge of Computer skills.

      (a) Rs. 20/-for SC/ST/PWD candidates.
      (b) Rs.100/- for all others.
02. Office Assistant (Multipurpose):
      (a) Rs. 20/-for SC/ST/PWD/EXS candidates.

Age Relaxation :- This option also different for different posts minimum age is 18 years. Maximum Age limit relaxation is applicable for eligible candidates.Crucial date for age relaxation is 31.12.2012.(Closing Date of Online Apply)
Application Fee :- Application fee is 225/- for 2000 and above 2001 Gr.Pay jobs. And Rs 125/- for Grade Pay below 2000/- posts. SC/ST/ PWD/ESIC Employees/Govt Employees/Female/Ex-Ser Candidates are fully exempted from Application fee.

Applications  in the prescribed format are invited from eligible candidates for recruitment for the posts of Postal Assistants/ Sorting Assistants for different offices in Punjab Postal Circle.


  1. Postal Assistants : 81 posts in various divisions

Pay Scale : Rs.5200-20200 Grade Pay Rs.2400
Age : 18-27 years with relaxation to reserved category candidates.

Qualification : Pass in 10+2 or 12th with English as a compulsory subject with 60% marks (55% for OBC and 45% for SC/ST) and should have studied the Hindi Language as a subject at the least upto Matriculation or equivalent.

Application Fee : Rs.200/- to be deposited in the post offices where candidate want to apply.  Women/ SC/ST/ PH candidates are exempted from the fee.
