GEOLOGISTS' EXAMINATION, 2012 

The Union Public Service commission will hold the Geologists' Examination 2012
 commencing from 1st  December, 2012 for recruitment to  following posts Geologist in various departments of Government of India. The examination will be held at various centers across the country.
1.     Geologist Group A : 300 posts in Geological Survey of India, Age : 21-32 years as on 01/08/2012
2.     Assistant Geologist Grade-I Group B : 67 posts in Geological Survey of India, Age : 21-32 years as on 01/08/2012
3.     Jr. Hydro geologists (Scientist B) Group A : 03 posts in Central Ground Water Board, Age : 21-35 years as on 01/08/2012
4.     Assistant Hydro geologists Group B : 12 posts in Central Ground Water Board, Age : 21-30 years as on 01/08/2012
Conditions of Eligibility

Educational Qualifications: A candidate must hold (i) Master's Degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Marine Geology from a recognized University or (ii) Master's Degree in Mineral Exploration or (iii) Master's Degree in Hydrology or (iv) Diploma of Associateship in Applied Geology of the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad.
(B) Physical Standards: candidates must be physically fit according to the physical standards for Indian Geologist's Examination, 2009 as prescribed in the detailed advertisement.
Fee : Candidates (excepting Female/SC/ST/ PH who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs. 200/- either by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of SBI, State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/ State Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/ State Bank of Patiala/ State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa/Master Credit/ Debit Card.

Walk-in interviews for positions in Mines

SAIL, a Navratna Company in the business of steel with an annual turnover of around Rs. 40,000 crore, is implementing an expansion programme. The company envisages substantial increase in production. The enhanced requirement of raw materials will be met by development of new mines and expansion of the existing mines, and also introduction of computerized mine planning.     Grade and Scale of Pay : (E-2/E-3) Rs 13700-4%-18250 / Rs. 16000-4%-20800/- likely to be revised from 1.1.2007.
  2. Mines Surveyor (7) Seven posts
    Grade and Scale of Pay : (E-1) Rs. 10750-4%-16750/- likely to be revised from 1.1.2007.
  3. Mineral Dressing Engineer (18) eighteen posts
    Grade and Scale of Pay : Grade and Scale of Pay : (E-2/E-3) Rs13700-4%-18250/ Rs.16000-4%-20800./- likely to be revised from 1.1.2007.
