| Job Description
To assist the Supervisor and Chief Engineer in all areas of the hotel interior and exterior, with electrical work allocated by them or through a service request system.
Responsibilities
1) Have up to date knowledge of all hotel services and functions at all times. 2) Develop knowledge of hotel structure, fixtures, fittings and plant. 3) Understand the Hotel’s fire and safety procedures. To undergo training in all fire and security measures every quarter. 4) Interact with Engineering Staff, and communicate effectively with peers and superiors. 5) Have good knowledge of hotel staff rules and regulations as stipulated in the Employees’ Handbook. 6) Repair and maintain all electrical and related items, - e.g. motors, switchgear, cabling etc. 7) Repair and maintain all lights, lamps and associated fittings. 8) Repair and maintain electric/electronic controls. 9) Co-ordinate the repair and maintenance to TV’s, sound systems, radios and lighting etc. 10) Repair and maintain other items as designated by Chief Engineer. 11) Install and Manufacture new electrical and related items as assigned by the Chief Engineer. 12) Read/make drawings/sketches of electrical installations. 13) Report all difficulties/shortcomings requests to Chief Engineer or Supervisor as appropriate. 14) Repair and maintain all electrical parts of machinery – e.g. kitchen and laundry equipment etc. 15) Provide necessary back up to Banquet Department, fixing and co-ordinating temporary installations of all types including sound systems, lighting, general maintenance/engineering support. 16) All work to be carried out thoroughly, professionally and safely. 17) Adhere to high standards of personal hygiene and dress according to the company dress code, as some guest contact will occur.
